We're honored

U.S. News & World Report ranks Saint Louis University among the nation’s top research universities, and many of our programs are in the top 50.

SLU is one of the oldest and most prestigious Catholic universities in the nation and is listed among Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education top-10 Catholic colleges. The Princeton Review, Fiske Guide to Colleges and Forbes magazine also name SLU a top college.

Kylie Barta, Class of 2023, says,

"It was a really easy decision once I visited SLU. Everyone cares about how you're doing; everyone cares about you as a person. And that was something I really wanted to be a part of."

What’s a Billiken?

From ESPN to Buzzfeed, everyone loves to talk about SLU’s mascot, the Billiken. Here’s the inside scoop: The Billiken is a symbol of the way things ought to be and a good luck charm that dates back to 1908. It’s said that buying a Billiken is lucky, but to have one given to you is even better.

A Billiken is unique, just like SLU students. While Billikens have a lot of things in common — like intelligence, passion and a drive to serve — on our campus, everyone is encouraged to be themselves. True to our Jesuit mission, all are welcome at SLU.
